Report the scam text messages

You can report and delete scam posts to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and other similar agencies.

Forward to 7726 (SPAM)

  • Copy the scam text message without clicking on any links.
  • Forward the text message to the short code 7726.

This helps your mobile network provider track and block similar messages from malicious senders.

Report to the FTC

  • Go to the FTC's website at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
  • Report the scam message, company and other information that you received.

The FTC uses these reports to investigate and take action against fraudulent activities.

Report within the messaging app

In iPhone, Android, Google Messages, WhatsApp, etc, you may have the option to block and report spam conversations directly from within the app.

  • On Android, touch and hold the conversation, then tap "Block & report spam".
  • On iPhone, tap the message, then tap "Report Junk".
