What are IATA Airline Codes?

IATA (International Air Transport Association) airline codes are unique two-letter identifiers assigned to airlines around the world. These codes are used for ticketing, baggage handling, and flight planning. For example, American Airlines has the IATA code AA, Emirates Airlines has the IATA code EK, and so on. The flight numbers for Emirates flights begin with the code EK. Examples are: EK527, EK528 and EK98.
