I cannot insert a CD or DVD into my MacBook's slot load SuperDrive
An hour ago, I wasn't able to insert a DVD (Monk first season) into my MacBook Pro's slot load superdrive. It wasn't accepting the DVD even 50%.
I was not even sure if there was a disk inside, so I tried running
drutil eject, ejecting from Finder and iTunes, and finally rebooting while pressing the trackpad button.I reset the PRAM and that didn't help.
Opening DiskUtility showed the drive as being recognized but it looked like there was no disk in it. But then I wasn't able to insert any DVD inside, so it was hard to say what was wrong.
I wondered if a trip to the Apple store opposite my office would be worth it, then decided to fiddle with the DiskUtility plist, and this WORKED! Here's the solution:
Run this on the Terminal. (⌘+Shift+U → Terminal)
Then try inserting a DVD and it goes into the drive.
Hope it helps you if you have a similar problem.
